Obsidian LLM Wiki Template

A good Obsidian LLM Wiki template gives the model enough structure to avoid dumping generic summaries into your vault.

Guide

What to know first

01

Folder structure

Start with raw sources, wiki pages, schema rules, prompts, templates, logs, and checklists. The point is to make each operation repeatable.

  • raw/inbox for sources waiting to be processed
  • wiki/Concepts for reusable ideas
  • wiki/Sources for source summaries and evidence notes
  • schema/quality-rules.md for what the AI must not invent
02

Page types

Use source notes, concept pages, entity pages, synthesis pages, and index pages. Keep open questions separate from source-backed notes.

  • Source notes preserve where ideas came from
  • Concept pages accumulate repeated ideas across sources
  • Entity pages track people, tools, companies, papers, and books
  • Synthesis pages combine only supported notes from existing pages
03

Prompt rules

A good template tells the AI to use only the provided source, create wikilinks deliberately, label confidence, and move unsupported claims into Open Questions.

04

Maintenance checklist

The template is not finished after the first ingest. Run a weekly lint pass for duplicate concepts, stale index pages, missing source references, and pages that need to be merged.

Turn the idea into a working wiki page.

Paste a non-sensitive source excerpt and see the difference between a summary and an Obsidian-ready wiki page.
